Café Calva is the commercial name of an activity
launched in 2003, dedicated to the distribution of wine, liqueurs
and spirits to a clientele appreciative
of
quality in Asia.
In conjunction with CONNECTRUST, a company
specialized in e-commerce and wine logistics, Café Calva experiments real-time collaboration and just-in-time supply chain solutions
customized for the wine and spirits industry. This hybrid approach of doing business, provides the company
with unconstrained vision and an innovative process driven agility
that few larger competitors could implement as easily.
Café Calva is the sole importer of Champagne Mandois for South East Asia, Singapore, Hongkong and the Pearl river delta. Champagne Mandois is a Champagne house with a long history, that we could trace back to 1735. Located in Pierry, a village classified Premier Cru in Champagne, the Mandois vineyard spreads over 35 hectares in the Côte des Blancs. Champagne Mandois is well known in France, and offers a broad selection, of vintage as well as non vintage, rosé and extra brut Champagnes of excellent quality.
Fruit creams are known in France as "Crèmes
de Fruits". Fruit creams and liqueurs are essential to the preparation of cocktails. Most are produced in Europe (De Kuyper, Bols) and also in France such as Marie Brizzard in Bordeaux, Giffard in Nantes and many others. Crème de cassis de Dijon is of the highest quality, produced specifically in Burgundy by Lejay Lagoute and others such as Gabriel Boudier.
Café Calva offers an assortment of various suppliers, some from Burgundy, some from France in the well known Vosges region of Fougerolles. In fact we are continually sourcing high quality products not only from France but also from all over Europe, USA and Australia.
In Asia, Café Calva is dedicated to developing the passion for cocktails among bartenders and consumers alike and to foster the spread of the knowledge essential to making the best cocktails.
Armagnac is the oldest and most delicate eau-de-vie being produced in France. Café Calva
distributes the armagnac from Castarède's vineyards at Chateau
de Maniban. This eau-de-vie produced from grapes growing
in the "fawn sands" areas of the Bas Armagnac region is known
as the most delicate in Armagnac.
Café Calva distributes a Grande Champagne cognac
from Daniel Bouju, produced on 45 ha of vineyards around
the village of Saint Preuil, near Segonzac.
This cognac distinguishes itself from other cognac
that
are mass
produced, sold
with
huge
media advertising
and more emphasis on the packaging rather than the content.
Cognac
Daniel
Bouju
is an excellent quality cognac, that
the connoisseur will recognize for its distinctive quality and
deserves to be discovered in its simple Cognaçaise bottle.
Our product range would not have been complete
without the Calvados, this famous French apple brandy. Café
Calva proposes a selection of AOC Calvados formerly known in Mount Saint Michel as
Père Laizé, produced in Pont l'Evêque by Père Magloire. It
is a
great Calvados
that emphasizes the fruit
rather that its 40% alcohol strength. As for Calvados Pays
d'Auge AOC (double distillation Calvados) we are proud to offer the complete range of Père Magloire pays d'Auge Fine Calvados, VSOP and Calvados XO, for which Café Calva is the exclusive importer in Singapore.
Café Calva imports a broad range of fruit brandies from Mirabelle and Kirsch,
to Raspberry, Plum, Quince and William pear produced by Distillerie Devoille from the famous french town of Fougerolles in the Vosges. In France, fruit
brandies are traditionally served at the end of a meal. Fruit brandies also have numerous
applications in baking and confectionery. Café Calva also imports in Singapore the Absinthe Charlotte, the famous french spirit that was the icon of Moulin Rouge during the "Belle Epoque" in Paris in the early 1900s.
Café Calva, always on the lookout for outstanding quality products, met with Premium Estates during an exhibition at Wine for Asia in Singapore. Goelles range of Austrian schnapps is amazing. From Alter Apfel to Holler schnapps (elderberry) and vogelbeere (rowanberry), you have here the very high end of Austrian schnapps from Styria, a region located around the city of Graz, and a close driving distance to Slovenia. I am personally a great fan of French eau-de-vie, but I must admit this Goelles schnapps is really special....
Café Calva does not only offer spirits, brandies and liqueurs. Café Calva also
sources exceptional quality wines from every regions in France,
including lesser known terroirs such as Bourgueil, Cahors or
Jurançon. Café Calva also sources first growth Bordeaux and
Burgundy wines, both as primeur wines that are still in casks
and are meant for keeping for many years, or as vintage wines
for immediate
consumption.
